The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program is group counseling for youth and young adults ages 14-21. It is held in our South Portland office. A rotating curriculum ensures that youth do not have to wait to begin treatment. The program is designed for those whose use has negatively impacted them in school, at home, and in the community. Many of the clients are at risk of being placed in a residential program, hospital or a correctional facility.
The goal of IOP is to help young people whose use of substances has been questioned or identified as creating concerns, abstain from or seriously reduce their substance use.
• Day One’s IOP is the only program of its kind in Maine specifically geared toward youth and young adults.
• IOP runs 3 hours per day/ 3 days per week/ up to 8 weeks.
• Continuing counseling and support is available for program graduates.
