Day One’s Board of Directors has announced that longtime Executive Director David Faulkner plans to retire at the end of June 2016. David has been instrumental in the growth of the agency over the last 32 years.
“We are very appreciative of the great job David has done over the years and we look forward to working with the next Executive Director to continue to provide outstanding services to Maine’s youth,” said Board President Dennis Carrillo. “Day One’s strong reputation and record of success as Maine’s leading agency addressing youth substance use disorders will position it well for the future.”
Under David’s leadership, Day One has worked in close collaboration with state government, non-profits, schools, corrections, hospitals, attorneys and families to advance its mission to dramatically reduce youth substance abuse and address mental health needs. In his 32 years with the agency, David has fostered a culture of respect which contributed to staff longevity and low turnover. He has been a passionate advocate for children and adolescents.
