RECAP of 2015 Annual Celebration – November 5, 2015
Our 42nd Annual Celebration was absolutely unforgettable. We are still reeling from the excitement of our most successful event ever! We would like to thank all of our supporters. Without you we would not be able to do the important work we do and continue to carry the message of hope.
Our Keynote Speaker was Chris Herren. Chris is the subject of the ESPN documentary 30 for 30: Unguarded. He works to provide assistance to families affected by addiction and encourages others to stand up to drugs and alcohol. Chris shared his amazing story of substance abuse and recovery to our largest crowd, 450. Despite the crowded room, you could “hear a pin drop” while Chris was sharing his story. It was raw and powerful.
The room was filled with students from the schools listed below who heard Chris’ message as well as those of our 2015 Honorees: Community Leadership Award honoree, Dajuan Eubanks; Making a Difference Award honoree, Ralph Hendrix; Community Vision Award honoree, Senator Anne Haskell; and two of our Day One clients who shared their moving stories as well.
